"Woah, we’re halfway there… and yes, I’m living on a prayer!
I’m hoping and praying I can spread a message of hope to as many of you as possible. This time of year is especially hard; many addicts watch others breeze through 'Dry January' and end up feeling like utter failures because they simply can't just 'stop.' For them, it’s not a 'take it or leave it' choice.
It’s the season when everyone is spent up, and the twinkly Christmas lights have vanished—along with an addict’s ability to camouflage their struggle. But please know, there is so much hope out there. I truly believe it. There is help available if you want it badly enough; the life you crave is waiting for you.
Anyway, back to Darcy... it’s not all about you! (Joking—a little bit of Lady Jane’s humour spilling out there).
To be honest, the start of this New Year has been pretty bleak. As a recovering addict with what I’m fairly certain is an 'ADHD brain,' I’ve found the slow start and the gruelling task of editing Addicted to You a real challenge. But, as you guessed from my opening: YES, I am halfway there!
This is my polite plea to anyone who already supports me on social media or has bought the book: Please spread the word to anyone you think might benefit. Recovery isn't a solo journey, and your share could be the 'glimmer of hope' someone else needs today."
