Today has been another productive day.
I’ve been working on the book cover and deciding what kind of vibe I want to go for, deliberating whether I want it to feel mysterious or empowered — like the book itself: empowered, yet conflicted and complicated (just like life). I’ve gone through so many different versions in my head and in the editing suite, trying to figure out which one will give the strongest voice without saying a word. People say a picture says a thousand words, and I hope I’ve managed to prove that in the cover.
So far, I’ve landed on two options (although that’s always subject to change — my mind does love to wander. There are usually two streams of thought, if not more, all talking over each other in my brain at any given time, each one saying something completely different). For now, these are two versions I think are quite powerful, and I’d genuinely love to know what you think.
The edits to the book itself are coming along nicely too. I’m working on another chapter at the moment, pushing it where it needs to go. Once these edits are done, I’m hoping that in a couple of weeks I’ll have a clearer idea of a potential release date for *Addicted to You* by Ria Tocsin.
One other thing that’s been on my mind: when I talk about the book, I often hear people say, “It sounds interesting… but I don’t really read.” Instead of just accepting that, I’ve invested in the equipment to record an audiobook. I’m learning how to edit properly and how to bring my voice — and more importantly Darcy’s voice — to life in the best way possible. So watch this space.
That way, you don’t have to do anything. You can just sit back, relax, and let Lady Jane and Darcy take you inside the story.
Anyway — happy Monday, everyone.
