…Sometimes writing a book isn’t glamorous.
Sometimes it’s sitting at your laptop, staring at the screen and reliving moments that could break a person… seriously considering putting the laptop in the freezer just to chill the f**k out.
The last couple of days have been a mixture of emotions. Coming back to the edits after a few weeks away, then rereading what I’ve already written, feels amazing. I’m on the right path… or at least I think I am. I just hope you enjoy it in the way it’s intended.
Some of the parts remind me just how messy life can get. How much people can hurt each other. And how much strength it actually takes just to keep going.
But here’s the strange thing about writing it all down…
It doesn’t just reopen wounds. It also reminds me how far I’ve come as a writer and just a general legend (joking)
Three years ago I was living through the chaos. The fact I’m trying to kid myself that life’s less chaotic is laughable. The difference now is I am turning it into something that has the potential to make a positive impact on others. To help someone feel less alone.
So if you ever see me joking, swearing, or rambling my way through these posts… just know there’s a reason for it. Sometimes humour is the only way to tell the truth without completely falling apart.
Anyway… that’s the updates from the editing cave.
Darcy’s story continues…
